I used to think the lyrics for the song were pretentious too, as well as melodramatic. I still loved it, just never really got hooked by the lyrics. After reading the comments though, I also think it's supposed to come off as pretentious and melodramatic... just the way a girl such as the one described in the lyrics is supposed to be. Hands down this is Athlete's best song. It just sounds so damn magical and the lyrics aren't too corny or obvious... it's just pretty much perfect. |

They played this on a live radio stream today, and it was pretty incredible. Torquil explained how he sang in a lower octave to show his character having a darker personality opposite to Amy's higher, more vulnerable personality as if it was someone still hurt after a breakup. |
