Okay. The people calling Rancid "sellouts" because of this song are clearly mislead, and if not, are apparent retards. Funfact: EVERY band that makes money off of their music is a "sell-out." That's right, folks, the only bands that aren't sellouts are the underground bands! Saying that this song was made to boost popularity and sales is an invalid arguement, because they're selling their music anyway. Big fucking whoop, it's a good song. How about you bloodthirsty heathens take a moment to think about the song and appreciate its meaning for a moment? The meaning behind the song is absolutely beautiful. That no matter what, friendship outweighs romantic love, and that no matter what happens your real friends will always be there to help you up again when you fall down in the dumps of life. This song is beautiful. Sure, it doesn't sound like most of their other stuff, but that impresses me. A good band fosters growth. Change. A good band experiments. If you can't even do that, you fail as a band. Good job, Rancid. I may be a little late posting here (a good 3-4 years actually, ahahaha,) but this song is still great. |
