I think this song is about suicide, but it might be a little more positive near the end "At times the dark's fading slowly But it never sustains " I'm an optimist, but i think this means that he won't actually commit suicide, and this is more like a cry for help. |

I'm not sure if it fits with love lost, but I think it does deal with the narrator murdering someone else, possibly out of self preservation against a perceived threat. The first verse is actually about the aftermath of the murder: Beating, heart still beating for the cause Feeding, soul still feeding from the loss Aching, limbs are aching from the rush Fading, you are fading from my sight His heart was beating fast and he might havehad an adrenaline rush, in the first 3 lines. The last line of the verse probably represents the victim dying. The rest of the song is probably concerned with the events leading up to the murder. Devious movements in your eyes Moved me from relief Breath comes out white clouds with your lies And filters through me This verse is showing how the narrator doesn't trust whoever he's talking about (hencethe perceived threat). The devious movements might be about a coming betrayal, which he is "moved from relief" about. He also believes the victim is lying to him. You're close to the final word You're staring right past me in dismay A liquid seeps from your chest And drains me away Mist ripples round your thin white neck And draws me a line Cold fingers mark this dying wreck This moment is mine I think the liquid seeping from the victims chest is blood, and the victim is "staring right past him in dismay" because they are dead, and their last feeling was shock that they were killed. The lines about water ornating a corpse are probably about the narrator dumping the body in a river to get rid of the evidence. All in all, it might be about a girl cheating on her boyfriend, who then kills her, but then again it might not. It's not exactly entirely new interpretation, but i hope it helps. |
