Well, if it is/was about Courtney Love, he was lying. Because the song "Let It Die" on the new album [Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace] is about how she sold-out the rights to the Nirvana songs to "Cold Case" and he says "Why'd you have to go and let it die" meaning why the fuck would you sell such great music to such a shitty show? |

Everyone here making up some shit about it being drugs, I'm not so sure about. The Downward Spiral is a concept album - an album which is "unified by a theme, which can be instrumental, compositional, narrative, or lyrical" (Shuker 2002, p.5). So, instead of looking at each, individual meaning, look at the whole album, the grand scheme. Then, and only then, will you understand. |

I think [personally] its about a guy who loves his ex to death ["I won't go getting tired of you"], but she's surrounded by other guys who just go crazy for her ["One more boy to lend a hand to you"].
