^^He then focuses on white people with "shunned before you pieced it & sold it and called it punk rock" Just saying. |

| Go on and Absolutepunk.net and I actually asked him (In an interview conducted by a staff member) why he reused the lyric. His response was because he always loved that line, and felt it wasn't done the right amount of justice in "Drunken Ballerina Waltz" and felt it fit much better in the new song. | |

| Personally, I think (Going more along the lines of the album's concept) that this song is meant to signify the pointless arguments you get into with people you really care about, but no how to talk to all that well. Like the fights you get into with your lover when you both think you're right, but aren't about to concede to the other person's point. | |

If you think about this song, in placement of the entire album; it definitely seems like Max cheating on her, and lamenting about it. Though, I really don't think Retarded In Love is about him cheating. I think that song is a lot more loving than it seems at first glance. |

To Lag: Oh, I'm sorry. And when will your album be out? Kill yourself. You won't be missed. |

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's more of a happy song then you guys give it credit for. I think (Seeing as where it's placed too, it's right after the love song, that being "Baby Girl, I'm A Blur") it's about two people that lead very uncontrollable, unhappy lives. Both of them are down and out and through finding eachother they fall in love. When people first fall for oneanother, it's this euphoric, somewhat 'retarded' feeling. It's just so exceptionally giddy. That's my two cents. |

This is the second song that I've found blatant Disney references in. The other being "All My Friends" which also talks about Wonderland. "To be more than just a cricket on your shoulder A little closer." "And you smell like roses. I'm the mortal soldier Your queen of hearts" It's interesting. |

| And all in all, I think this song is a look into the whole 'Perils a band can face on the road'. Facing all of the "battles" that happen when you're touring and trying to deal with being famous. | |

Your lyrics are a bit off kilter. They go like this, "Cursed by my imagination Teaming with echoes of situations I do not feel well, pressed beneath this spell. Polishing my social skills With one more drink, and two more pills. I do not feel good, I thought by now I would. But then again... It's like one thousand papercuts, Soaked in vinegar. Like the battles with yourself, That leave you insecure. It's all just a numbing charade, Until the day you finally wake up And you're not, Afraid. Bound by my own disposition The endless hunt to find fruition I'm insatiable, even if my cup is full. My soar throats are now routine, I 'Gotta write those songs, make 'em scream. They're insatiable, even if their ears are full. But then again...(But then again...) It's like one thousand papercuts, Soaked in vinegar. Like the battles with yourself, That leave you insecure. It's all just a numbing charade, Until the day you finally wake up And you're not, Afraid. It's like one thousand papercuts, Soaked in vinegar. Like the battles with yourself, That leave you insecure. It's all just a numbing charade, Until the day you finally wake up And you're not, Afraid." |
