Nothing we've done is in vain, even if shit hits the roof ... its the journey that matters not the destination! wat mankind has learnt through its own mistakes as a whole encourage us to appreciate our gifts that we take for granted.. but clearly.. and sometimes its too hard to fix your own mistakes even if you still have time. there is alwalys the ability to make things better when ppl have stuffed up but alot of people choose disregard that option ... sometimes its just just easier to delude ourselves (isnt it just human nature) then one day in the future you look back and say opps i fuked up. when you knowinlgy had the chance to fix it then. you wish you did then .. there are these times now, in the past and future. but then we all had our reasons for making the choices we did.. just to take pride the the paths we chosen and not look back at what we didn't do ::..Loo..:: |

Divided we stand Together we fall There isn't a God That can save us all So don't pray on your knees Just, beg on your hands There is no belief In this promised land He explores the disintergration of society. Its a stark contrast to "together we stand, divided we fall." The use of this contrast creaes a hysterical and dystopian society, emphaizing the future of society. This song is a heavy critism of modern society. I reckon he uses allusions to god as a veichle to develop a pyrrhic struggles and victories of modern society. We are a world consumed in war and hate which is slowly corrupting us. Although he argues that there may be 'no belief', i assume hes encouraging people to take a step back and look at the true/whole picture. In order to change anything, we cant keep on emotionally removing ourselves from our problems and struggles. We can't really pray either we gotta do sumthing to fix it up :) ::..Loo..:: |

The introductory stanza kinda suggests on a metaphorical level that the author is trapped, confused and bewildered by society. He trys to find somewhere to hide and escape from all the challenges that he is somewhat unwilling to confront... This song acts as a foil for his inner personality as suggested by the chorus. Society (or a special individual) also pressures him to conform to demands which may not necessary express his true beliefs. However he eventually succumbs to these demands and looks back with some sort of regrets? The author is also critising society and its development into a dystopian nature and shown by the first two verses. One presents an emotional (priests) approach, while the other a more natural and literal (fire trucks) intrepretation. Society may be deluding themselves from issues at hand? Futility and hopelessness... ::..Loo..:: |

A dress up party at my house we'll all be someone else. instead of A dress up party at my house where I'll be someone else. Drive fire engines through the desert in the rain. I'll search the shipwrecks in the ocean for the flame. instead of Drive fire engines through the desert and the rain. I'll search the shipwrecks in the ocean for a flame. ::..Loo..:: |
