| I believe the entire song is an analogy for modern consumerism. fear of being everyone else. fear of finally getting everything in it's right place and losing all control. it's the american dream gone awry and it's every day. I think this message fits in with the spirit of the album a lot better, as well. | |

so many people here just don't get it. it's a classic flaw. a classic mistake. the first verse is from his perspective. he's not prepared for a life full of lies and failed relationships. the last verse, she wants a life free of lies and a meaningful relationship. they want the same things. there is no communication. they don't know that they both want the same things. thats why "this is so messed up..." |
