| before i say this i hafta say that i completely respect DkM and love most of their songs. but i feel like this song wasnt given the effort it should have gotten. its meaningful but the lyrics shouldnt been deeper, the flute in the backround didnt do the song flow that well, and at certain points words were jus crammed in and it jus didnt sound good. | |

Ok this is what the song meant to ME. it is just my oppinion so no one get mad. Ok so i think this song adresses all the bloodshed in the fighting between ireland and northern ireland and how so many lives can be saved by just ending the violence. Like others said it doesnt matter what color flag you have, the flag of peace is whats important About the "genre" issue this is what i believe. Genres should just be used to classify shit not a source of pointless arguments. And how genres can be damaging is some people say they dont like punk rock so they wont listen to the song. And putting such a rigid line on what this band is will hurt their range of listeners. I think we can all agree that we would like everyone to hear flogging molly's great and unique sound. P.S. does anyone else get chills when they hear, "Then the rosary beads count them one, two, three Fell apart as they hit the floor" especially with the bass drum hittin at one two three |

Well to me this song reminds me of The Odyssey. Odysseus returns home after a journey that took him 20 years to get home and he discovers Penelope (his wife) has been unfaithful. "But if you really loved me You would've endured my world" If she really loved Odysseus then she would have waited for him without cheating on him with the Suitors but instead she does cheat on him and he wants to kill her |
