I always just thought this song to be simply about time passing by and the need to remember one's roots. "The bleachers are empty" implies loneliness / going the less-tread path. The whole third stanza has lots of time shifts: "As the snow and the window get some business done" "stop getting locked out" "decay mill" etc.. Probably just about living your life and not getting distracted by what other people want: "Don't deconstruct the Megadome; it's inside you" I absolutely love Sound Team's lyrics. It's so awesome how everything comes together. It's sad that these comments are so naked. |

I always thought it was "People can be awful naive." I like my version better actually... Hah... I love the line "You're fluent in a language that dies every time you speak." I also thought the bit about the center line was "Step into the sunlight." :/ Switcheroo, 'Kafka on the Shore' is a book from 2005. The book obviously refers to the author but this song refers to the book. Since I have not read it, I can't really give a too-detailed response. This is definitely one of my favorite songs from the Team. Really sad that they are gone so prematurely. |

hahaha i love how barely anybody pays attention to this band - they are retired and only made one full-length CD but it is godly and this is one of the best on it... i'm in love with this band and how NOBODY i know has heard of them, except the one person who introduced me to them. i'm guessing this won't be read by many people.... but whatever. kudos to yeh for not listening to one of my favorite CDs of all time! peace |
