| George Harrison – Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll) Lyrics

If I could go back and delete the last post I would. I just came upon a video on youtube. I was looking for a live play of the song but I found a pretty well done fan video. In the description this is what it said and I think this pretty much explains it.
"When George first moved into Friar Park in Henley-on-Thames, he was very interested in the history of it and its owner, Sir Frank Crisp, an eccentric old man. (But as a Beatle/George fan I'm sure you all knew that!) George later wrote this song, and I believe that George used little sayings that were carved into the walls of Friar Park, or made up ones that sounded like something Sir Crisp would say. Friar Park was also where George gained his love of gardening. There is more history behind this but I will let you get to the video now!! Please enjoy!!" |

Simply about falling for someone who doesn't feel the same way and you waste your time waiting and waiting, hurting your self and getting nothing done for your self and in the end you realize everything but your depressed and things just get worst. Im speaking from my current experience and what I'm hearing from this song. Excellent song, sort of helps you out get on your knees because you know your not the only fuck up going through this shit. |

When I first listened to it I knew there was a struggle he was trying to present. Just the grinding gears alone shows alot and basically supports the idea of a struggle. Once I read someones comment about his homo sexuality everything became clear; Indeed it is about Freddie's sexuality. Basically the part about him leaving the girl is about Freddie's wife. He eventually left his wife because he was cheating on her with other guys. I also know that she was rather shocked by this because it wasn't an ordinary thing where man falls in love with another girl, he was cheating on her with other men and it seemed rather stupid to her. The song presents this with "They're just four wheeled friends now." If you do some research in this you'll find out that even with the break up she was still a major part of his life, and he said that she is the only true friend he has ever had; it's sort of irrelevant but I thought I'd share it. The other parts are pretty self explanatory. |
