Ok Ultima Gaina....i don't know who's the ignorant one here but it sure isnt me. Yes Transylvania is full of history and its indeed a lovely place. But you "my brother" are slightly wrong in your statements; 1, Transylvania was hungarian territory for more than 1000 years (860-1920 AD). 2, The huns/magyars/avars (= hungarian tribes) are not mongolic tribes. These are not even indo-europeian, which the mongols are, nor asian peoples. 3, There were no romanians in transylvania until around 1250 AD, when the hungarian king (Bela IV) allowed them (romanians) to settle down there, to compensate for the loss in population that was the result of the tatar (mongol) invasion in 1242 AD. 4, The only reason that transylvania belongs to romania today is because they (romanians) continued to immigrate and the hungarians ignored this. In 1920 AD with the treaty of trianon, romania (which became a state for the first time in history in the 1880s) was given transylvania by the victorious nations with france in the lead, due to political interests. Btw i don't understand your point regarding the roman empire. The modern day italians have no, or very little in common and are very vaguely related to the ancient romans. Unlike the situation in transylvania where you still have a high percentage hungarian inhabitants. I advise you to do your homework before commenting on issues you don't know jack about! Ok Pixillate. First of all shagrath666 is right, it's based on the "Charge of the light brigade" Secondly, if you have seen Eddie as "the trooper" you will notice the british uniform he's wearing. It is exactly the kind of uniform the british used during the 19th century warfare and I m sure you're aware that the crimean war took place in the 1850 s. In addition to all this the lyrics mention the russians. And tell me what other major war during the 19 th century is containing hostilities between England and Russia.. Hope I could help a little. Btw your interpretation is not stupid at all, horses were used by Poland in the ww2 but the german blitzkrieg was to effective in the beginning of the war. Hahahahah!!! Nice one Bullzeye.! The song is with no doubt reffering to the Crimean War somewhere around 1850 between Russia and Britain (and France). The casulties had an estimated number of 250 000 (both sides). Fantastic song!!! Taking place during The Battle of Britain. I love the part " ascending and turning our Spitfires to face them heading straight for them I press down my guns" except that the Messerschmitt is actually a better plane than the Spitfire.
