This song is about people that live life only to die and are typically just waiting for the end. It's basically a cry out for people that feel like this to get over it and make the most of life instead. Deep stuff. |

Yeah and left before forever is actually left ME for forever, and yet return again? He's pointing out the fact that he will always remain what he is, a sex fiend in this case, and that the woman/man he is singing to is the same and will always come back for more. |

It's like he's alluding to himself and whoever he's speaking to about leading a life full of sex and how other people view that.
"How it breaks their hearts that we've made and art of desecrating our sanctuaries."
The vary narrow minded view people take on that sort of thing is covered in the chorus alone.
Most of the songs have to do with sex like any old day Electronica, Stiff Kittens and Bitter for Sweet Included. |

It's like, he's using religiously associated words to describe the break-up, more so than actually talking about religion itself. |

I don't think it has anything to do with religion, I can see where you'd get that from the lyrics though. Davey Havok himself said in his interview that most of the songs on this album have to do with sex, as did most of the 80's electronica and so on. I think this song more or less has to do with a bad breakup of sorts. The boy in him X person loved has died and he's a different person now. This is their last chance to make things right with him, because he's leaving without them this time and not looking back. Stopping the rain could be a semi-religious allusion to the fact that the romance stopped and he's wondering what the hell happened, and that the following semi-religious words about science and salvation are continuing the religious allusions. |
