Sorry people!! But this song is not about love... It's about desire and lust. It's about physical attraction. He reaaally wants her. There's no love involved in this lyrics. Anyway, cool song. The first time I heard it was in a Dawson's Creek episode, (yeah, it's true), first season, when Pacey and Joey are forced to spend all day together for a school project for biology class, and at the end of the most annoying day for both of them, after an unfortunated incident with the boat at the creek (caused by the stupidity of Pacey), they have to get to the other side without a boat, and of course, they ended up completely wet. And while Joey is changing her wet clothes behind Pacey's truck, he's trying to take a peak, and this song is playing. OK!! I know... probably some of you are going to hate my reference to Dawson's Creek, but that's the first time I heard it, and maybe some of you saw that episode too and remember this song was playing. |

Great song!! beautiful rock ballad. It's about a guy tellin' a girl how he feels about her, he's nothing without her, he feels lonely and miserable, he just can't live without her, he's sufferin' and he's willing to "put away his pride" to make her realize how much she means to him. It seems to me like he did something to hurt her, and now he realize how wrong he was, and how much he loves her, and he asks for forgiveness... "don't make it tough, I'll put away my pride"... "I've suffered and I've seen the light". It's the kind of song that makes you melt inside, there's a lot of emotion in the lyrics and in Steven's voice. Everything in this song comes together to make an incredible ballad that can almost make you cry, but at the same time it still rocks!! I don't think they've ever made a song like this. Amazing! like everything this guys do!! (of course I can't be objetive cause it's my favourite band, and to me they are the greatest rock band on earth!!) |

First of all... what can I say? wow! this song it's a classic!!
I think it's about life, about learnin' and growin' older, and havin' to experience failure and going throught difficult times in life to learn from it. It's about leavin' the past behind you and live the present, cause you never know what's gonna happen tomorrow. And "dream on", never forget your dreams. One thing about this song is that Steven's voice is almost unrecognizable, he really sounds very different, and then at the last part of the song he hits that high note and it's incredible!! that's when you recognize him without a doubt. He's an unbelievable lyricist, and a great singer. I never get tired of talkin' about how incredible his voice is. |

This is great song!! I think the meaning is pretty obvious. The guy is in love with a girl who's a lot of drama, and she plays games, but he's willing to deal with all her drama cause he's crazy about her, he loves her and he needs her. The lyrics tells the story.
I love the harmonica in the background, excellent guitar, this song has a very nostalgic sound, it's awesome!! That part at the end of the song when Steven goes so high pitched you almost can't tell if is steven's voice or a high guitar note.
I really like the begining of the song, when he talks before start singing. I think this song is a favourite for all of us Aerosmith lovers!! |

Ok, it's true, beautiful song. But they have a lot of better songs than this, by far. It seems like this songs reminds everyone about their ex boyfriend or girlfriend, and that's pretty amazin' cause it means the lyrics and music went deep into the hearts of a lot of people, but is very annoyin' to hear people who hardly know something about Aerosmith's music sayin' "oh my Gosh I absolutely looove this song ", cause it's a shame that a lot of people identify Aerosmith with this song that they didn't even write. Cause Steven is an amazin' song writter, and these guys create incredible music. But one thing is true, no matter who wrote it (Diane Warren), this song would never be what it is if Aerosmith wouldn't do it. |

This song is truely amazin'!!! It's a great song, very emotional. It's about life, the ups and downs. Of course is about Steven and the band's drugs addiction. It has a very positive message, about hittin' rock bottom, and then "finally see the light". It's like no matter how bad you feel your life is... no matter how lonely you feel or the mistakes you had made, there's always a new tomorrow, a new oportunity to recover what's lost. The lyrics are full of wisdom, "life's a journey not a destination", "you have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk", it might sound simple, but is so true!! This song is great!! the guitar solo is incredible!! And Steven's voice and interpretation of the song, amazin' as always!! This is one of the songs only Aerosmith could create !! You have to love this guys!!! |

I'm gonna ignore some comments that doesn't have anything to do with this amazin' song. This is my favourite Aerosmith's song of all times. I agree with a lot of the comments, but I have to comment on this song anyway!!! I think it's about a guy who was going through a very difficult time in his life, feelin' lonely and very unfortunate in love, feelin' like he didn't have nothing worthed in his life, nothing to live for, 'til he mets her. "I was cryin' when I met you" She gave him a reason to live, made him feel alive again. I think it's about love, but more like an obsession. Then she started messin' with his head, and playin' with his feelings, and she did him wrong, that's why he's trying to forget her, but it seems like she almost doesn't care about all the pain she puts him through, cause when he is with her, he feels like never before, that's why her love is "sweet misery".
I think is an incredible song, very passionate lyrics, sound, and the amazin' voice of Steven singin' with such passion, makes it a very powerful song.
I think it's about love and passion! Cause what is luv without passion?!! One of the best songs of history, for sure!! |
