| Bring Me the Horizon – Shadow Moses Lyrics

@[staymetalforthekids:36468] agreed. This is what I understand from the lyrics as well. Despair at being trapped in an infinite void of nothingness. Being haunted by it, trying to run away - but that dread stays with you always. Understanding that time itself is an illusion. We are no more than an infinitesimal blip. We are nothing now and we will always be nothing. The universe has no reason to exist. Nothing ever did. The reason for this reality is arbitrary, just like our existence is arbitrary. It's one of the infinite number of random possibilities that comes from nothingness. There is no greater meaning, there is nobody watching over you, and there is no escape. You can't do anything to change it. And it will keep repeating, over and over again, because in nothing there is everything that could ever possibly exist. You will never find something tangible to anchor yourself to. Forever and ever, you will exist as nothing. |

| Green Day – American Eulogy: A. Mass Hysteria/B. Modern World Lyrics

This song speaks right to my heart. After listening to it on repeat for an hour, I began to cry. It tells me that there are people out there who understand how fucked up society is, and how the class of 13 (the upcoming generation, which includes me) is going to severely pay for the fuck ups of today's governments and people. Green Day's music really gives me hope that eventually, society will change, and that the internally flawed systems the world's nations operate by will finally be gotten rid of. We can make peace with the world, we just have to believe it can exist. |

Just as you said, xzilhery, there really isn't the real meaning here... but that's ok, because it is meant be interpreted in many ways. But this song isn't about a bad record label. It was written when the band was having arguments about the lyrics for "Runaway" (another song on Hybrid Theory), and they got a bit out of hand. Personally, I don't think this song is among Linkin Park's best, but it still kicks ass! Good to get anger out. Rock on LP! |

I think this about a relationship where it starts out well, then has problems. The person to who the voice is singing to is drifting farther away while he puts all his efforts into bringing her/him back. Finally he has enough, because the person is ignoring and destroying him. He gives up and decides he doesn't need the person anymore, that he has to be alone to decide what is right for him.
Awesome song, Linkin Park are the best. |

| U2 – With or Without You Lyrics

I absolutely love this song. It's probably one of U2's greatest. The lyrics are very deep and can be interpreted in many ways. I especially like the guitar at the end, and when it fades to silence. Great song.
By the way, at about 3:00 into the song Bono starts singing "ooooooo" 3 times. The second time he does that it always sounds like he's singing "whore". You can actually hear the "r" pronounced. Can somebody tell me if that's just me? |

| Linkin Park – Shadow Of The Day Lyrics

I have had a strange experience with the Shadow of the Day. I was flying out from my home in Poland, leaving behind my family for an undefined (but apparently very long) period of time. It was 4:00 in the morning, outside it was cold and raining. I remember getting up, packing my suitcase. As I was doing the last check of my house to make sure I had left nothing behind, I wandered into one of the bedrooms. There was my radio sitting on the desk. I just walked and turned it on, and I heard Shadow of the Day playing, it had started almost on the moment I turned the radio on. The song made me stay in the room until the end. When it ended and I was about to leave I found the photo of my family I wanted to take with me. Since then, every time I listen to Shadow of the Day, I remember that cold and rainy night, but also the warmth of my family when I was saying goodbye to them. It is my inspiration to find a way to return home, somehow. Shadow of the Day is a very powerful song. |

| Linkin Park – With You Lyrics

With you and papercut are probably the two songs that live up most to Linkin Park's "hybrid theory", of showing rough things in a beautiful way. Just like the cover shows a soldier with the wings of a butterfly or dragonfly. The superbness of the vocals, the guitars, the turntables, and all the beats make With You truly beautiful, despite its seemingly rough sound. I love minutes to midnight, but hybrid theory is a masterpiece. |

| Linkin Park – No More Sorrow Lyrics

I used to always listen to the album on my pc with earphones. Then I took the cd to my dad's VTL sound system and it sounded x1000 better. No more sorrow was the most awesome to listen to, especially the beginning and when Chester starts singing. When I listened to it on the vtl I realised how pissed he sounded. |
