"You always gotta remember that not every one of his songs he writes is from his point of view. i mean this one does definitely seem like it but it still doesn't mean that it's his PERSONAL belief or something. Everything he writes about isn't based out of his life or experience. that's what makes him so damn talented is that he can write from other people's perspective and not just about his own life. damn he's good.." Well, I agree that Dave is an amazing writer, but your wrong about him writing about others perspectves. Maybe he can, but I've yet to see it. He wasn't agnostic until his sister was murdered, he used to be a devout christian, and thats when he wrote all of his religious songs, such as The Christmas Song. |

I'm a die hard DMB fan and love this song, but I have no clue what it means, I came here to see if anyone had some useful insight, but so far nothing revolutionary. I have an idea. Tell me what you think guys. Eh? means huh? in english, hee? having similiar meaning in japanese. So Eh Hee is using both words in different language to express that the worlds in a state of confusion. "Walking along in this haze of confusion" Yes I know this song was inspired by a African tribe, (the chant coming from them) but I can see Dave taking the chant and transforming it to what I just mentioned. Also note that the original spelling was Ayhee, but was changed. This means that Dave could have realized what I just realized later on and changed it because it fit very well. This song screams that dave is confused, and what a better title than two words that mean huh? something you say when your confused? Am I overthinking this? |
