It's about Icelandic norsemen on their way to Canada. Their they were attacked by natives, who were by far more barbaric in their warfare than the quite civilised norsemen. The mentioning of Valhalla is the difinitive proof of the relation to norsemen. TRIVIA: Contrary to popular belief, Valhalla is not reached through dying with a sword in your hand, that way some old farmer's wife could just buy a sword and hold it in her deathbed and go to Valhalla. The norseman who wanted to go to Valhalla had to die in combat; otherwise, we wouldn't have so many records of norse warriors wielding axes, spears, and bows. |

I hate people who claim the first verse was written by a torture victim in South America. It's a translation of the poem "Ikke Bødlen" by Danish poet Halfdan Rasmussen. The song itself is about the way the individual can do great good. In this example, if the Serb had not broken ranks to help the Babushka and the baby, they would likely have starved or been killed by other soldiers. |

The lyrics are buggered up. Here's the actual ones: Reflex in the sky warn you you're gonna die Storm coming, you better hide from the atomic tide Flashes in the sky turns houses into sty Turns people into clay, radiation mighty day Robot minds of robot slaves lead men to atomic graves Plastic flowers melt in sun, fading moon falls upon Dying world of radiation, victim of Man's frustration Burning globe of obscene fire, like electric funeral pyre Buildings crashing down to the stony ground Rivers turn to wood, ice melts into blood Earth lies in death bed, clouds cry for the dead Terrifying rain, ease the burning pain Electric Funeral Electric Funeral Electric Funeral Electric Funeral And so in the sky shines the electric eye Supernatural king takes Earth under his wing Heaven's golden chorus sings, Hell's angels flap their wings Evil soul falls to Hell, ever trapped in burning cell! |

JoshPR, nice pseudo-knowledge, but it's not based on fact whatsoever. Satanists do not kill for Satan, to do so has nothing to do with Satanism. Hell, LaVeyan Satanism doesn't even worship Satan (as we understand him) as an entity. A lot of Satanists are very nice people, but of course our Christianity-based society depicts Satanists as murdering scum. Here's a little trick; if it's not on Wikipedia, it's propably not fact. (Disagree with me? Don't tell me, as I won't bother responding unless you make some pretty fucking good arguments.) Now, back to the song. It's obviously about violent murder, which is also a theme in for example Sleepwalker from United Abominations. The vivid descriptions of the pain gives the lyrics a sadistic twist. (Just because the song says it's sadistic, doesn't mean it is. Shut up.) This sadistic twist, along with the warning "if you see me coming run as fast as you can", makes the listener asume that the song is about a psycho-/sociopath on a killing spree, as said before by several reviewers. Overall, the general feel of the song is that it is describing a psychotic mass-murder on people who have done some wrong ("Deviant defilers, you're next to be dead") which has concerned the character. Oh, BTW, since it's apparently obligatory to make some bland, tired, obvious statement of one's opinion about the song which has nothing to do with the purpose of this site: 7|-|15 50/\/6 r0XX0r5!!!111one. |
