| Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song screams Meth Addiction. "Dabbling all the way down, in love with the dark side i'd found" For people that don't do drugs, or only do them occasionally. The dark side isn't just a side of the force in Star Wars, it's the binge-crash-nonstop addict who loses himself and everything around him to get high again. We call them dinosours because their shoulder blades are usally jacked up above their neck everytime you see them. The dark side is easy to get lost in, with a drug that makes you feel like you're King of world, riding the fastest rollercoaster ever made and fucking the hottest porn star all thrown into one hit from a pipe can and will make the weak give everything they own and don't own for just a taste. However for recovering addicts like Maynard whom was saved by someone close to him, probably given an ultimatum to keep doing dope or lose this person. He wishes he could give it up, but his wants and needs are clouded. He wants to still feel human and care/love, but he needs to get high. Crystal Meth is a life long addiction, don't rock the pipe unless you're ready to either deal with the come downs or lose everything. For most that next hit is all that matters, in the end, it's only a drug. It can never love you like a human being can. | |

I think the song is about someone that was really in love and then he left her, but tried to get back with her but she refuses to be hurt anymore. Because she's been hurt so much in the past. "Tonight I lack the strength to even move, When you walked, now watch me die For I know this is harder for you, For love has let you down" This part is basically saying he can't feel anymore, since without her it feels like nothing. "When I can’t feel you, I’m not alright, I’m not alright, When I can’t heal you, I’m not alright, I’m not alright" Religious meaning, in the bible it says to follow your mind and not your heart, because the heart is deceitful. Love jesus above all people(Im not religious btw just saying) and he gave all his love to this woman instead. "Jesus as you throw me on the rocks, For love I left your side For I believed in love and beauty’s whiles, Where heaven shone from her eyes" Now the last part is pretty self-showing. He wants to know that all the time they spent together wasn't a waste, and that it seems like alot of wasted time now. She's scared now to be alone but still refuses to let him hurt her anymore, and they'll now be apart, standing alone and they'll make it without eachother, somehow. "Tell me that it wasn’t all for naught, It’s such a waste now, It’s such a waste now c’mon I know your scared but baby don’t you hide, It’s such a waste, We’ll stand alone now, we’ll make it somehow" |

| Static-X – Skinnyman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Drinking being one of the addictions. Technically "Skinnyman" references to Crystal Meth or Cocain, which make you lose your apetite. If binged on long enough, you'd be a stick after a cpl months. | |

| Hmm, I think it's about a missed ex, but his own fault for it ending. Even if they were right for eachother, his addictions and/or anger tore them apart. Only so much a person can take, and his fucked up world destroyed her because he used to be sober, responsible and collective. Now that he's a 'monster' she doesn't recognize him anymore. He realizes at the end of the day, just before he passes out, that the 7 A.M to 10 P.M Drinking session isn't as good as she was. | |

| rogue hawk as much as I wan't to agree. I can't. Idt this is something The Sniper would feel, even though he's somewhat caring, he's still stubborn. I just can't imagine him saying "I need your discipline." then again, the red pills do change you. But imo this is a single-continuation to PHM, lyrically ofcourse. Letting you is the only YZ-2 track I feel. None the less, both of us could be wrong, who really knows except trent, but then it wouldn't be as fun to debate and interpret his art. | |

| I haven't heard the Numan version, but i'm sure it's very good. This song kicks in for me when he sings "The sound of metal...I want to be you." awesome. | |

I could be wrong, but this is what i've came up with so far. Each song being another chapter for the major's. Though The still and ATCHB aren't in it. 1,000,000 - The Downward Spiral Letting you - Year Zero Discipline - Pretty Hate Machine. Echoplex - The Fragile, Right Side Head Down - With Teeth Lights in the sky - The Fragile, Left side. Demon Seed - Broken I could be so wrong it hurts. But giving each album a listen, then each song mentioned right after. It has some relation. As for this being YZ part 2. As much as I enjoyed Year Zero i'm so fucking glad he dropped and put this out instead. YZ was good lyrically, and some songs had the perfect vibe and beat, I just think they overdid it with the electro-techno. Hard to be choosey as a NIN fan since we get Pop-funk-rock-jazzy electrobeats but YZ was just way over the top. However, it'd be cool if YZ2 were to be made, Had a good concept and the sites/conspiracies leading up to the album were entertaining. The sniper may not be as fucked up as TDS's character, but he's still someone you'd want to listen to. Being more external than internal like TDS. He drowned in self-pity while warning the world at the same time. Rather than just thinking of himself, the differences in those two personalities is simply amazing, and takes a very unique and experienced artist to even attempt to come up with it. Reznor will have my ear, and two cents, no matter what type of album he releases. |

| I'm getting a vibe that all of these songs seem to be a single-continuation for each of the major albums released so far. Idk why but I sense a "Right Where it Belongs" during the chorus, lyrically. | |

Mycroft good job catching that, I didn't even think of it, so far what I get out of this is the "protagonist" is angry as hell at the world and fed up entirely. Kind of hard Hard to see When you crawl On your hands and your knees With your face In the trough Wait your turn While they finish you off Cover up your eyes long enough and you forget what it 's like to see. I think this is him dealing with life better yet still aware of how shitty everything is, you can shut everything out but after awhile someone or something from your past is bound to return. don’t know when it started don’t know how should have found out should have happened by now got these lines on my face after all this time and i still haven’t found my place He can't remember how it got so bad before, but now it's reoccuring he's pondering on why he hasn't just ended it and is confused on why he's been lieing to himself to stay happy, yet blind. The lines on his face signify his age, as he's getting older and shit's getting bad again, he still doesn't know where he belongs. i jump from every rooftop so high so far to fall i feel a million miles away i don’t feel any thing at all Even as high as he can get in life, and how wonderful it can be he knows once you reach the top, there's no where else to go but down. Even after so many years, and it feeling like a million miles away, once again he's back to his old thoughts and swims in them. i wake up on the floor start it up again like it matters anymore i don’t know if it does is this really all that there ever was? Seems more like a metaphor, same as the chorus. He's back on the ground once again, and doesn't know if it's worth it to get back up, or stay down. Because once he's back up, whats to prevent him from slipping and falling again? put the gun in my mouth close your eyes blow my fucking brains out pretty patterns on the floor that’s enough for you but i still need more Projecting his anger at the world "you" he taunts them. Knowing that killing himself is satisfaction for "you" it's still not enough for him. --------- Hope that makes sense, great song, good album. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Mr. Self Destruct Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It is drugs and that's viewing it from a concept. TDS is a story indeed and if you listen to each track in a storytelling view. You will realize it covers all of today's modern escapes- Sex, Drugs, Religion and just constant shit that feeds our momentary happiness. When he realizes none of them are long-lasting or worth it and stops dancing over the line of Remorse and FuckItAll is when he puts the gun up to his face. But drugs plays a huge part. And knowing trent, he was probably high when he wrote it. He's not too fond of TDS anyways ;) | |
