just to add to it, the bit that goes: So when you'd ask, "Is something wrong?" I'd think, "You're damn right there is But we can't talk about it now No, we can't talk about it now" implies, to me, that he's afraid to tell her cos he know he'll hurt her. it's not about using her - it's about wanting to avoid hurting her in any way. but he doesn't know how to handle it - and will probably end up hurting her even more than he wanted to, cos he doesn't know how to tell her. |

it's the ultimate song of unrequited love. she is beautiful, he can't deny that, but he doesn't have feelings for her. yet she is completely inlove with him. and he so doesn't want to hurt her and wishes he felt the same - but cannot bring himself to. the worst kind of unrequited love. it made me cry, the first time i heard it. as it's pretty much what happened to me last year. |
