Based on various things said by Mikael recently like the Watershed lyrics being personal to him and based on recent events that took place in his life, I think this song is about the difficulties that come forth with being an artist. Nowadays while he's having a family and all, I can imagine it has became more difficult for him to go on tour and being away from his wife and kids for such long times and leave his wife behind in the "fields of sorrow". While touring he finds that time passes him by so fast and while being home he is restless and inspirationless maybe (I've always stayed, waiting for nothing?) |

The song is about Satan once being the apostle of god but after being banished to hell being the true triumphant and the most powerfull spirit (and not God). He is the one that inspired the ten commandments (wisdom carved on a black stone) and encourages humans to open their soul and be saved for he is immortal. It is a brilliant song as all of the Orchid epics are! |
