| Death Cab for Cutie – Your Heart Is an Empty Room Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| if you read the poem "My Story In a Late State of Fire," it pretty much sums up the meaning you just said. And since I think this song might be inspired by the poem, I think you may be onto something... | |

I have a feeling this song was inspired by a poem by Larry Levis called "My Story In a Late Style of Fire," which would make sense because they are really into poetry. Check out how similar they are: "None of this matters now, But I never felt alone all that year, & if I had sorrows, I also had laughter, the affliction of angels & children. Which can set a whole house on fire if you’d let it. And even then You might still laugh to see all of your belongings set you free In one long choiring of flames that sang only to you..." Pretty cool huh.... if your interested in reading the poem, which is excellent by the way, here's the link: http://paulscotaugust.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/larry-levis-my-story-in-a-late-style-of-fire/ |

| Regina Spektor – Samson Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| So the reference of bringing the columns down could translate to the fact that their relationship didn't crumble like it did by his death in the story? | |
| Slightly Stoopid – Closer To The Sun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The acoustic version is amazing as well! I think he's saying that your life is made up of experiences, travels, tests and difficulties. These things help you figure out who you really are and why your here on earth until you finally reach 'the sun.' | |
| Metric – Raw Sugar Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'm going to go on a limb and say that this song is about materialism. She says it's bad news because even if she escapes the crazy world of materialism, she would just be a hippie sitting by a campfire with a tambourine smoking herb. This is not the life she wants either. Living in the high rise grave could be a reference to seeming important when you die because you are famous/popular/rich enough to have a high rise grave (those things are expensive!) There's a reference to tanning another fake kind of practice, and she describes them 'frying.' She also says the neighborhood's a runway, matching lips to the purse, which is also a reflection of what the media tells us is beauty. Even though she doesn't agree with the materialism going on, she still wears the red dress, does her make-up, etc. and enjoys it. Summer may be referring to a time when society strips itself from consumerism. I could be completely off, but I think there's a lot of references in here that point to her frustration with what the media portrays as important or beautiful. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Snow (Hey Oh) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with iluvpunkrock on page 1. Snow is a symbol of purity or perhaps spirituality and God. I think Anthony's singing about trying to come clean and stop using drugs | |
| Angels and Airwaves – It Hurts Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the line "your best friend is not your girlfriend" so much. I see it over and over again when girls start dating a guy and the couple becomes obsessed with each other. In the process they neglect their friends and eventually drift away. I often think what will happen when they break up, then who will they have. This is why "your best friend is not your girlfriend" | |
| Angels and Airwaves – It Hurts Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's funny that you say that this song reminds you of Blink. That's because most of the Angels and Airwaves songs were created by Tom and Marc while Blink 182 was still together. When they broke up, Tom took a lot of never release Blink songs and published them as Angels and Airwaves. So thats why. True story | |
| Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I always thought this song talks about spoiled children and how they learn to live on their own once they enter the real world maybe a girl but not necessarily |

| Dave Matthews Band – Crash Into Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think the melody of this song is brilliant because its calm-like sound reminds me of when you day dream about someone that you kw you can never have. I think this song is unique. Not many people sing about this stuff. | |
| Dashboard Confessional – Living In Your Letters Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song reminds me of a soldier at war sitting alone pouring his heart out about his girl back home with his guitar. It gets to me every time | |
| Box Car Racer – Letters To God Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think the constant repetition in this song is symbolic. To me, it represents that the person is having an extremely difficult time coping with death and are not ready to die. It seems almost like they are constantly praying and pleading God to let the live. I'm guessing the person dying is very young. | |
| Counting Crows – Colorblind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| im going to agree with rebelwithoutacluexo. one of my guy friends told me as soon as they put on this song for a girl "the panties just drop". I think its because of its intensity. I also agree that it has a very deep meaning about your true self as opposed to how you look or apear to others. | |
