This is my fav on the album! Its for Jess's ex Steve. She had known him for ages but never got together because they were always with different people, but just before she moved to America (to become The Veronicas) they FINALLY got together. I remember reading interviews when they were together saying that they'd always call each other and stuff and how hard it was keeping a long distance relationship. And i guess Jess was the one who broke it off and is telling Steve that know matter what happens she still loves him. I was reading a interview and apparently when Jess was recording this she kept crying, so they did it like 20 times just to get it right. Then she sent it to Steve (who was ignoring her at the time), he heard it and loved it. Now there just friends |

THE REAL MEANING: =D The storyline of the song 'secret' was based on an article we read in a magazine, about guys who 'pretend' to be gay - so that girls tell them things that they might not discuss with straight guys, and other things, such as getting undressed in front of them, letting them slap them on the bum etc, becasue they think there are no other tendencies behind it. Then after they have built a close friendship relationship - the guy suddenly switches, and tells the girl that 'he converted him straight' and 'he's in love with her' Basically in the article it was talking about how more and more guys are 'faking being gay' to get girls to undress in front of them etc. The song is about that situation. Please dont think that its about a girl thinking a guy was gay, and then found out he wasnt, so she didnt like him anymore - because thats not it - and would be prejudice. And thats not something we support! mwah! |
