"Gave Up is about Trent's experience at a cooking class, because he was trying to learn how to cook stuff but in the end he had to give up. The whole Broken album is actually about a blender that Trent owned but it got broken" While I'm a huge fan, this is probably the funniest interpretation I've ever heard. I actually laughed after reading it. |

| Alright, there is some confusion here. There are two music videos for this song, one is from the Broken movie and the other is just a video of Trent and whoever he had over playing the song. At first people were asking if Brian Warner (Marilyn Manson) was in the video for Gave Up from the Broken movie, then two of you thought that they were talking about the video that was shot in the Tate house. Manson said that he "pretended to play." Whether or not he means that literally you can't tell. It looks like he is playing the guitar in the video. By gorillas he means that they are as smart as gorillas. They are big dumb jocks. He obviously doesn't look that "smooth" by the line "i kid myself, i look real smooth." The correct lyrics are: "They say looks don't count for much, and so there goes your proof" He means, your proof has gone right out the window, obviously the looks count because the only thing that any woman could possibly find attractive about these "gorillas" is their body. This one really isn't that hard, guys. |
