Doyal Bramhall Sr. wrote this song as stated above. He also is the one who originally encouraged and taught Stevie how to sing. Stevie at first just played guitar and was reluctant to sing until Doyal pushed him into it. |

This song clearly is referring to man's need for intervention from God and Christ. At the end where he mentions "were you just around the corner?
did You think to try and warn her?", he is referring to Eve when she sinned and ruined perfection for mankind, and was Jesus around at that time to warn her of her repercussions for her actions. The reference to a tape recorder simply is a wish that we could rewind and do it all over again without the mistake she made in that garden of eden. |
