Of course about capitalism and the way it operates. I read somewhere the band had recently returned from a visit to Thailand and witnessed the widespread poverty there. This in turn influenced Martin to pen a song. And the reference to Korea is about how South Korea became a bulwark for the US in its campaign against communism during the Korean War, ultimately converting to virtual laissez faire capitalism. |
