i think it's about hazing. like at sororities... it talks about faking and backstabbing both "girl" traits. i thought don't drink poison could be, like date rape? wolf girl (like the wolf in sheep's clothing) the girls who look nice but actually are evil. it all kinda has the "Frenemies" tint to it. like smile at the tv while you download her file. and don't be fooled by the sister vocab. and then looks like lips and feels like teeth. it's abt bckstabbinng and being a fake. |

i really agree with maddsurgeon. amberbreath: that's what i thought kinda too. i heard the song and initially really just liked it (plus i lovelovelove jd) but then when i heard that i got really p.o-ed. i don't think anyone should discredit someone for being a "lipstick" lesbian, their sexual preference is still valid, even if they're femme. and as for chicks "pretending" to be lesbians well.. a)in a backwards way it's kinda nice that it's trendy, better than us getting killed (altho it makes it harder to date :P) and b)who is ANYONE to say that they're NOT lesbians? no body knows except them. i had to deal with bs like that when i came out and it feels like crap. i love jd too much to believe that this is what the song is about. |

i just want to correct almost all of you: this is a shout out, not to women but to activists, whether they be feminist or queer, people who've made a difference in the community. i'm pretty sure (like really sure) justin bond is male-identified for example. (i'm really glad they mention him shortbus=amazing justin=gorgeous!) |

| Le Tigre – Gone B4 Yr Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Whispering_sorrow i kinda get what yr saying about male privilege, but recently i either read or was told about someone's professor (i think i was told this, if so it was in ontario) who, when walking alone at night if he saw a woman in front of him, would cross the street in order to let her know he wasn't following her. stuff's changing a lot more guys are taking womens' studies and becoming more aware :) | |

skarredmunkey, the third wave is now. well depending on which feminist you are talking to, some say there's no new wave. but everyone agrees that the 60s and 70s were 2nd wave. or, every feminist i've talked to/read/heard speak/anything (there have been many). |
