this song never ever fails to put me in a good mood! i love it so so so much! "revenge is the saddest thing honey, i'm afraid to say you deserve everything" i really like those lines in particular, but the whole song is just so upbeat and has a 60's vibe to it. it's great |

i agree with everyone. jenny's solo success was so much greater than blake's with the elected, and so she was perhaps the silver lining to the band and now is gold all on her own. this is just another possibility to throw out there, it could mean that she was someone's "silver lining" in the beginning but now all she is to this person now is "gold"..sorta like a trophy wife concept?? the music video does hint that it has something to do with blake/the band in general. she was committed to the band (marriage) but her success led her to run off to other things, while blake is left behind. |

| i agree with tomorrow_tomorrow about the blacklight concept of things usually unseen in normal lighting that stand out when examined carefully, in fact jenny says that in the september spin magazine. so i think that's why the album is entitled "under the blacklight" because this whole album is about the unseen parts of LA, the less pure (prostitutes, gypsies, etc etc) | |

"her good looks coulda sailed a ship but her will alone coulda sunk it" for some reason i really dislike that line, it just seems like some 7th grade poetry, but im digging the song. and i agree, stop whining about the new album, it's just a change of pace and they do all fit a theme. in Spin they were quoted saying the album was supposed to "sound like a party"..sooo yes it IS different than their old mellow, but it's ALL good! |
