Gnarls Barkley – She Knows Lyrics 17 years ago
yeah, he said in an interview that it's about his mother's passing and how he wishes she can see the man he has become, compared to what he was in his past, when she was alive. But this is like his message to his mother that he knows she can see him now, and that he's become a decent man and is no longer the thug/hoodlum he used to be.

OutKast – Chonkyfire Lyrics 17 years ago
They put that awards show acceptance speech on there to show the reception they got at the Source Awards show in New York. Outkast won an award (i think it was best new artist or group) and if you listen closely, you hear that they get booed. Big Boi gives thanks, but Andre is pissed. So he states that he hates "close-minded folks" that don't want to listen to something different or hate on something when it pushes boundaries, or when an artist is not from their region people tend to hate. Remember, this was a time when there really were no southern rap acts that blew up. Andre also makes a pretty bold forshadowing in his speech too, "The south got somethin' to say."

Nas – You're Da Man Lyrics 17 years ago
that whole first verse is about the jay-z and nas beef when this album was released.
"Right in they fat mouth then I carve my name"= jay-z's big lips
"I don't kill soloists only kill squads"= see Nas' "Ether"
"Fame went to they head, so now it's "Fuck Nas"= see Jay-Z's "Takeover"
"Yesterday you begged for a deal, today you tough guys"= When Jay-Z was making his first album he asked Nas to be on it, but he declined saying Jay should do it himself, like Nas did on his first album
"Came in with my style, so I fathered you"= In "Ether," Nas states that Jay took his rhyme style on Reasonable Doubt
"Now you wanna hang with niggas I hung with
Fuck bitches I hit,"= On the Jay song "Superugly," a reply to "Ether," he states that he slept with Nas' ex

k-os – Crucial Lyrics 18 years ago
for those wondering, one of k-os' parents is from trinidad and he has spent part of his youth there. hence, jah-jah. he has a lot of reggae roots because of this, and he has been exposed to many forms of music and takes traits from many of these influences and adds them to his own music. making his own style of creatively eclectic music, which makes him more HIP-HIP than anything else (even though he does sing well).
