hahaha the theory that this is about anal sex is the most mental thing I've ever heard. I think it's more literal than you'd think. It sounds like it could be about loving the night or loving being out at night. The Moon changes, also she says about taking her coat and there's nowhere to go but on, leaving on a high note: saying goodbye to a loved one and being excited to be out, Take is slow: she wants the night to last, take it easy on me: She wants it to be a nice night, Shed some light on me please: As read. And the title and line "The Moon My Man" is either her love of the moon and the night and she's given it a metaphorical body OR that she loves the night and she loves her man and she's just repeating the two things that make her happy |

I can hear the "Make it happen, for boy, for girl" reckon it's right I'd agree with the theory about abandoning everything, seems to be a longing to be free of modern stresses. I think though there's a kind of joke with Yannis singing "I hear the futurebirds, it's called spaceships, astronauts and all" as in the future is supposedly all about space exploration but he's saying if he could he would literally trade all that for wings so we could all be free as a bird I guess. Sounds pretty far off probably but I do think there's a bit of a joke in this song. |
