Jens Lekman – The Opposite of Hallelujah Lyrics 15 years ago
I also like the part where Jens wonders if his sister might develop depression too ("Is it in you too?"). Depression often runs in families.

Maybe she fell down and hurt herself? Maybe she has a limp or big scars from a bad fall -- hence her insecurity about her body.

Wait. When she talked about "the fall" she wasn't talking about the season or Mark E. Smith...so what was she talking about? Haha.

So is the title pronounced sorta like "Kahnfwee ar shar ee dayg"? I think that's how he says it in the song...

Rivers has said that this song is one of his favorites.

The catchiest, sweetest pop song ever written...and almost no one has ever heard it.

Elvis Perkins in Dearland – It's Only Me Lyrics 18 years ago
As kids, we all get scared by the creepy noises and shadows at night. But here, instead of being scared like most kids, the narrator actually *wants* to be haunted. There's someone he's lost that he longs to see.

Whereas most people would be relieved that "it's only me" (i.e. there's no monster in the closet, no ghost in the yard), the narrator is pained by this realization. "It's only me" -- he's alone.
