To be scientific, when "the sun is eclipsed by the moon", the normally "dark side of the moon" actually has the sun shining on it, and the normally "light side of the moon" is dark and facing the earth. So when "everything under the sun is in tune", this really means that the "dark side of the moon" (insanity?) is in tune. The whole album is about insanity, with Brain Damage being the last step. Eclipse just changes our perspective on things (maybe the insane people are really sane, and vice versa?) The couple of lines spoken at the end seem to be depressing, but really, if the whole moon was the dark side of the moon (insane), then there would be no arguing about sanity, and no one would struggle to achieve it. Everyone would be equally insane, and in tune because for once the dark side of the moon is under the sun. |

I love this song, probably the best song on Gordon
Disc 3 could be their 2 new albums, because they used a lot of b-sides, the "forgotten lines"
And Disc 2 could either be Stunt (because the songs didnt have much meaning, except for a few), or are me, because they switched to a new record label. |

Cafeen is pretty much right, basically this is the story:
Gepetto was making a doll, pouring all of his love, and all of his effort into it, telling it "One day youll be a real boy!" and things like that. Then one day, he forgot about it. The doll was left on a shelf, collecting dust, completely forgotten by Gepetto. Then Gepetto started working on a new doll (Pinocchio), and the old forgotten doll is forced to sit on the shelf and watch Gepetto tell Pinocchio everything he told the old doll. Becuase the old doll is not a real boy, it can't move, and is forced to watch Gepetto work, all day, and remember what it was like before. This song is just about the inner thoughts of this old, forgotten doll.
This is probably my favourite bnl song ever, its just so good. |

The line "The onion rings, the phone makes me cry" means that since he said goodbye, everything's been messed up and unnatural (normally the phone would ring and the onion would make him cry). That's actually one of my favourite bnl lines ever. |

I think this song touches on assisted suicide; "anyone with half a heart would pull me down". The "help me out" line is referring to helping him kill himself after some bad publicity. It also kind of says that all suicide is assisted suicide, because everyone helps by not telling anyone about it. There are a lot of bnl songs that sound like suicide even though they aren't, (When I Fall, etc.) but I think this one is. |

On the album, Stunt, this song comes right after "Alcohol", so i thought it might be about rehab, and rebuilding his life after a drinking problem. I know the verses don't all fit, but it's one possible interpretation of the song.
I love the video for this song, and the song itself. |
