I agree with noctem9 and starfire. The music, to me, sounds similar to "only" and the way he's singing, definitely reminding me of "not so pretty now". The lyrics are very, very fitting for Trent at this point in time. |

To stedington: I'm well aware most of the information you brought up. The Niggy Tardust album, I bought it. I think it sucked, but I actually payed the 5 dollars for it, mostly just to support Trent. It makes no difference to me though. My point is that this is literally only "Hyperpower" with Saul's voice over it, and like I said, Trent did not write the lyrics. I wouldn't doubt the possibility that he gave Saul an idea of where to go with the lyrics, but that's not enough for me. This section of the site is to discuss the works of Nine Inch Nails. As a work of Nine Inch Nails this song is absolutely no different from "Hyperpower". Unless it is remixed by Nine Inch Nails, I don't think it's good enough to add as a separate song from it's original. We can't add every individual song that links to Trent to this site. If that's the case let's add "I'm Afraid of Americans".. and hell, lets even add "Flyentology" by El-P. This site is to express your opinion. That's mine. |

Okay I was hoping this wouldn't happen. Why should we add Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D songs to this site? Is it not bad enough that we have the [not Nine Inch Nails] song "Angel" listed on this site permanently? This is "Hyperpower" with Saul Wiliams singing/rapping over it. Trent did not write these lyrics, this shouldn't even be called a remix. It's Saul Wiliams' version. I really hope you guys don't start adding more songs from this album to this site. They're not by Trent and we already have their originals to discuss the lyrics, which is what this site is supposed to be about.. ..and since this isn't even the Nine Inch Nails version I wont be discussing these lyrics. |

This song is tubular. I'm assuming I'm the first comment cause this song isn't very well known. Well it's a cover of The Shadows [an English instrumental and vocal rock and roll group active from the 1950s to the 2000s] Muse can be seen in a number of videos performing this song live on youtube. And I was able to find it on limewire. At only about a minute and fifty seconds, it's still able to put you in a jolly 1960's mood. |

I'd say it's just to get you "pumped up" for the album. Not so much like Pinion [pretty much NIN's only other intro]. This is obviously ends up much more chaotic and "disturbing", which is ultimately what the Year Zero concept is about.. I love the screams you can hear in the background especially within the last few seconds. |

I agree with "Amaranthian". This song doesn't seem to fit very well on "Closer to God". If anything it should have been on Halo 07 instead.. would have fit much better. As for the meaning, who knows, maybe it has none. Maybe it's just a break from all the damn Closer remixes one after another.. |
