I don't think this song is anti-Christian.. Looking at it somewhat objectively it appears there is a lot of sarcasm. Notice how it says "make way for science" then it says "make way for yourself" he seems to be pointing out how people tend to worship themselves. Also note the "put faith in mother earth" which seems to be a reference to paganism. Why would he go on and on about science and then refer to paganism which is just another religion? The way I am looking at it is its not just religion really that causes problems. I think its talking about how as long as we put ourselves first then there will always be war and strife. Note the part about the bishops. That is a great part of what I'm talking about. Bishops and clergy of the church have exploited religion for their own gain which has caused strife. To throw in some more food for thought the part about "purified by pain" is almost a direct reference to Christian martyrdom. So it really seems to me this song isn't about *religion* or against one specific thing I think its ultimately about how we always put ourselves first and we will have problems so long as we do. |

To me this song is about being on both sides of the coin. Not having the will to really go on yourself.. and knowing someone who wants to end their life. I've had alot of experience with suicide since monday (tuesday now) On monday a girl I knew killed herself.. and another girl is doing her best to push away everyone and follow. I think its pretty obvious this is about both sides of the coin. Living in a world in which there is nothing there truely for you... You have physical wealth but, its useless... and You would give it all just to see someone you know happy.. Everything I own, to make you feel like its not to late, its never too late. Maybe I should have that put on my grave. |

I love this song. This song (to me) has alot of value. Music is an expression of yourself. It is essentially a major part of who you are. This song while is much softier ultimately carries the same meaning as a lot of their harder songs. Regardless of what its going to cost you no matter who is going to make fun of you. To me this song also has another meaning.. i always wanted to get into choir or band in school but, my parents never let me.. They hate the music I like now (metal). So to me this song is about being true to yourself. We all need to sing. Its a part of who we are. It carries a deeper meaning then words can really express.. sooooooo Some people sing for life some people sing for death Some people sing to sing the songs that they like best Some people sing for hope some people sing for pain So let me hear you people sing |
