I think this song is about reminiscing a lover, having a song remind you of them so much. Reflecting on all the good times. I also think this song is just about getting through that and staying positive. I like how it is almost sad in a way, salty eyes meaning to cry. Yet, it has such a happy feeling to it, you can't help but my smile. It almost reminds me of a boat ride, the way the instruments sound remind me of waves. It has sort of a happy-go-lucky feeling about it. Like the others, I agree it's about hope through music. |

First, I love this song. The way she pauses, as if shes heightening the desire to hear the next verse. It gives me this eerie feeling like she taking her last breath and your dying to hear what her next word will be and praying she gets it out before she passes. As for all the argument about the Kill Bill movies. I always felt like Kill Bill was sort of a mockery for all the other ninja and assassin movies out there. I first saw it when i was rather young and it was the first action movie that i liked. I always thought it was a mix between comical and action. Not to be take seriously kinda movie. It's like saying Jackass is stupid because normal people don't do what they do. Well no duh they don't it's the point of the whole movie. I guess the real thing is, if you don't like the movie then don't talk about. it's kinda pointless to start a big argument over a movie anyways. silly people lol. |

i think the song is about a guy who is kinda mediocre falls for a girl who is stuck on herself. the whole 'did daddy not give you enough rejection' says that shes been taught she is the best. so yea he falls for her and is nervous and stuff, but is also proud he is the one she "installed" the whole "shes shaking" could possibly be that he broke up with her to make her egotistic ways stop? thats just a guess though. Great album, i havent been able to put it down... |

i think this song is about a guy who wooed a girl. he was like mr. popular of a group of friends or something, then his ego began to build. he eventually self destructed his popularity with his ego. anyways, hes realizing that he is not as well liked as he once was. and his girl is telling him hes just feeling sorry for himself, and thats she still loves him or w.e the part "This is gone and I can see that your head is full of words, Full of words that don’t mean anything." is him realizing that even though he himslef is not popular his girl is still in love with that image. the way he was. but as he realizes now it was all empty and for nothing. therefore shes in love with nothing but empty words and promises. so hm, to sum it up; a guy was once popular-ego got to big-no one likes him-and his girl is realizing hes not wat he once was-so hes all alone now, and is just down in the dirt pitying himself. yea i hope that seems accurate. this album is so great! |

I didnt like this song at first but it grew on me. im not real sure of the meaning but since no one has tried to put up any...well ill give it a shot. Anyways, i think its about a couple and the woman committed adultry. which is a sin.... so yea ill break it down the first part 'listen up sweetie...' i think is how she kinda takes pity on herself since she finds herself to be very 'high class' or something like that and no one is good enough for her or her company. the portrait part is how hes figured everything out (the cheating) okay, so the next stanzas i admit throw me off. perhaps it is about him killing her. maybe it turns out hes cannibal. lol. anyways lets just say he is killing her....and hes kinda torturing her a little, telling her that shes not the one in 'power' or 'upper class' but he is...liek the tables have turned. the chorus..(sorry i skipped it the first time) is just him wondering why she did this. okay the next part..him talking..(my favorite!) is about how he knew what went on the night(s) she cheated on him. And the whole 'we have narrowed it down to a butcher knife and the mockingbird with the blood.' if you have read the book 'to kill a mockingbird' than youll get this...okay, so in the book it states that to kill a mockingbird is a sin (like adultry), since it "dont do one thing but make music for us to enjoy" which is kinda saying how the guy didnt do anything to get cheated on. that he was nice and caring, a good boyfriend or w.e. and yet she cheated... so yea, in my opinion, a girl cheated, and then the guy killed her and possibly ate her lol. I hope this helped someone, or at least made someone want to contradict me and write a diffferent meaning, which i highly advise lol, mine doesnt make much sense it was just what i thought fit. This album is crazy good, yay Chiodos! |

I think this song is sort of stepping back and taking a look at yourself, and thinking what your life would be like if certain things were different. I also sort of think its kind of someone not being 'good' enough for someone els, and telling yourself if you could ontain certain qualities your lacking you could show them that you are 'good' enough and show them up. thats just my interpretation at least. I love this new album...its soooo great! I love Chiodos!!!! |

Im sorry, but I dont agree with what you all are saying this means. Perhaps its just me... I think the song is about a couple who were once in love but broke up (mostly due to the males actions)... The first stanza "this is it..." is sort of him saying, "this is our last chance, we need to try and do this right," but she is reluctant and doesn't want the "nightmare of their hearts" to happen again. But at this point he's trying to get her to see what he sees, how they could still love each other...He's also pleading with her, saying how he can't think of anything but her. The second stanza (the chorus) is him saying "its okay," and he understands how she feels and that he'll just have to dream about them being together. Even though deep down he thinks someday they will be back together, and everything will be perfect, but he also knows it will take time and work to be perfect. The third stanza is him dreaming about her, and what it will be like. It's basicly his daydream of what he thinks his life with her will someday be, or could be. Then it's the chorus again, which fits in with the daydream, since it starts out "ill keep dreaming" The last stanza is him saying how if she would just let her self trust him again, and believe in them it would work. It's kind of the annual, "do you want to get back together?" I hope this helps, this is my favorite song on this cd. Chiodos are so unique and wonderful, I love them! |
