even though she loves him, bigger things in life are forcing her to leave him, but she still wants him to know she will never be able to forget or replace him and what he did for her. he has made an amazing impact in her life and has filled her heart with a spot that can never be removed , replaced, or forgotten. very touching song, but sadly it is often how life goes. |

well, as a musician i seem to listen to the sounds just as much as the words. and i feel allot of you are spot on with the meanings. i think is does have to deal with some kind of death, whether it be the death of a heart, or physical death. it could also be mental death that he just cant take it. but one thing i noticed, is the bass is verry strong in the beggining, like his heart beat. only it has a pattern that skips a few beats every once in a while. (whether it is skipping for when she is there, or when she says sorry) but if you listen, from the time the guitar comes in at the end, the bass beggins to fade,and the guitar becomes the dominate rhythm, only its jagged and rough. its not a loving beat like a heart, more like an erratic heart attack or seizure. and then, it all just stops. so i feel that they are also speaking with the melodic harmony and rhythms of the song, of how his heart beat is dead and there fore, he is nolonger living for her. |
