Pedro the Lion – Secret of the Easy Yoke Lyrics 18 years ago
I see this as a prayer. An ernest prayer to God from a Christian who's burnt out on the current Christian movement (you know, the one with little focus on God).

If you look at the lyrics closely, he's speaking directly to God the whole time. At the end, considering the melody, timing, vocal style, et al, it could very well be the last 4 words are spoken by Jesus to the character praying.

Just like he did to the storm. The character got his answer, but it wasn't the answer he was looking for, of course. It was just a message of peace, faith and hope. "Peace, be still."

Pedro the Lion – Rapture Lyrics 18 years ago
Sorry if someone already mentioned this, but I got tired of reading through every single comment to see if anyone had - well, mentioned this.

To me, this song always attempting to form an adapter between spiritual release, freedom and understanding and the physical act of sex. The kind of freedom any, "backsliden" Christian feels the first time they violate any forbidden act (such as extra-marital sex, here, or swearing/drinking/doing drugs/shoplifting/etc) is beyond comprehension to anyone who is NOT a Christian.

Because of that, the closest the character in this song can get to describing the incredible elation and the sheer awe that he's in when finally violating sexual fidelity is being caught up in the Rapture. The Rapture is about the greatest demonstration of Christ's deliverance known to a modern Christian, and when this character spills his seed he can only liken it to the greatest thing he could ever imagine...

being caught up in the Rapture.
