I read that he got the idea for this song from a friend's kid that painted a picture and wrote on it, "I love you more than the sun." It's a pretty cool song, with such a simple, but amazing meaning to it. |

One of the saddest songs they ever wrote...I would call it my favorite, but I don't really have a favorite. Just like tons of other songs of theirs they hit me square in the face with some very hard and very true lyrics. |

I think they are singing more specifically about what would happen if one of them would stumble in their walk since all eyes are on them (if struggle has a purpose on this narrow road you carved, why do I dread my trespasses will leave a deadly scar?). But I think it ends in a more positive light of them knowing that even if turn away from God, He will never turn away from us. And in that sense it's more of a song for the listeners as well. |
