i think it is sort of obvious. this song is so beautiful. robot refers to the emotion lost when children are turned to soldiers, losing all emotion. the song refers to the loss of children to war. the beach most likely refers to the beaches of world war 2 and how the horror of d-day turned the children (soldiers) into robots. the last stanza refers to the loss of one of the fathers on d-day. the rest of choruses refer to families looking for their children lost to the tides of war. beautiful song. |

OK Everybody, here it is: This song is about Zombies!! For real, Start out: "Crowded streets are cleared away, one by one. " The infection starts to spread, so streets and cities are cleared away as people flee. "Hollow heroes seperate, as they run" Those that were seen as heroes of the modern day run like the others, not the heroes they were thought to be, only hollow. His companion, a female, hand is cold, but he tells her to stick close. Wise men, who saw the infection coming wonder of the future, while strong men, who tried to fight, die. Our frustrated protagonist wants to see the end of this diaspora. He now says to his companion, that if she finds her family, not to cry, for if she finds her family, they will likely be either dead or zombified. This land of make believe refers to this place that they are now in which seems almost mythical, so dead and dry describing how barren it now is. He now realizes that his companion feels cold, yet she feels alive. He then tells her to get away, realizing that the coldness he felt on her was her cold blood, and that she was dead, yet she felt alive. He tells her to get away because he knew that she was undead. He continues on in his journey without her, wanting to know how this would all end, as he looks around at his desolate wasteland, empty inside. But he assures himself that it will all be alright. Open your minds, listen to the music, and feel it flow through your body. Explore music beyond what may be obvious or easy. |
