Can't get enough of this song... Ironically it's tattooed on my mind. It's about this girl who I presume her sexual encounter with this guy was somewhat a one night stand, she's cool with it. She's level headed about it and can handle it. The thing that overwhelms her though is that she's got this intense natural high out of their experience. You know? The kind of thing where its a mixture of infatuation, desire, longing, attraction... feels like it's bordering on obsession yet it's perfectly under control. Now listening to the song I can tell that this girl is not naive, in fact shes been around, perhaps liberated yet smart. So she was really surprised to find herself feeling this way towards this guy... I guess it was unexpected ("Now I know you're the dangerous kind") So here's this girl who's all knock out thinking bout this guy, but she neither want to call nor write coz she's too smart for that. Now women her type are wise enough to avoid getting trapped in a classic sorry scenario such as this, she really should have known he's the dangerous kind. She's a little peeved too coz she juz can't shake it off her head. She tries to, but sadly she find herself still wanting, cursing him in the process for being sweet and kind. It could have been easy for her to get over him if he were not that perfect. That's my take on this song... It's hard not to like it... cool music, cool voice, excellent arrangement! |

I agree with emipark, boy meets girl, they hit it off, but he thinks she's so perfect and that she deserve better, hence "she's outta my league". The cool thing about this scenario is that the girl doesn't know how much of an impact she is to the guy. They get kinda physically close ("feel her breath on my face, Her body close to me"), but to her it may just be platonic. This situation happens to most of us all the time... Kinda bitter sweet don't you think? "Just a fool to believe I have anything she needs She's like the wind" Kudoz to Patrick Swayze! He nails the song perfectly! |

Check this out! This could be the meaning of this song.. It's about a middle aged woman, lonely and needy, driving her car, late at night, cruising and all, then she spotted a young male drifter. Their eyes meet, and they instantly understood. Eyes communicating.. But she's middle aged and a bit naive and this type of thing is new to her, so she's adamant and he can tell. She's about to move along and bottle her desire, her longing, her wishful thinking... just like a prayer... But he wants this desire between them consumated and wants her to delay her pathetic thoughts. In short all he wants to say is "Girl, whatever your thinking, just save it and let's get it on!!!" LOL
But then again I'm just bullshitting you guys... bottomline, this song kicks ass!!! |
