- I always thought that this meant the girl kissed him, but there was no love. Like the relationship has lost its spark and they're slowly falling out of love, and the guy realizes this and is devasted. Hence the shrapnel tearing through him. |

Yeah... the ring is a guitar effect called a vibrato. There just jerking the string around and it makes that sound... and honestly, I don't think it sounds like a cell phone ring at all.
And I think this song is about the guy letting go of the girl, but she doesn't want to let go and she's sorry for whatever she's done. It's sort of like me and my ex girlfriend, cuz she did something that made me not trust her. Except I'm not letting go like this guy. |
