| something about preserving the innocents of the baby's (her sister's?) mind maybe, and sheltering it from the outside world (and I know the sky will split and existence stop). its very dreamy. 'balls of jade will drop' - jade = green = youth? Its a beautiful love song tho and, to me, illustrates the wonder and love you feel when someone is born. 'palm trees fall into the sea' reminds me of hendrix' 'castles made of sand' and how it symbolises time. | |

its someone tucking someone dear in at night, saying 'goodnight, tomorrow things will be better' because "find a ticket, win a lottery..." then after tucking the loved one in she, herself, goes to bed 'see those dollars bills go swirling...know their stolen but I dont feel bad' She doesnt have the money but she just gave away the comfort and the dream of a better life that they symbolises. next verse shows how desperatly she wished she was able to give that loved one a better life and all the things they could do if they had them. but all they have is a a dream, but its a beatiful dream so *lets dream it, we'll dream it for free, free money' |
