To me it sounds like a song about mushrooms. The lyrics aren't as important as the mood they're setting. low high low high then insanity.

I don't think this song is about being gay exactly, it's about embracing your sexuality, whatever it is. "There are many colors in the homo rainbow" is a pun meaning it's ok to be gay or just a little gay. |

It's most likely about drugs, particularly heroin since they were both addicts when this song was recorded. To me it sounds like a double entendre, meaning it can also be about sex. |

It's about giving up drugs.. (he used to do heroin) 'I don't want to go cold turkey".
"I'm so tired of driving but here comes the highway" is most likely a metaphor for the ordeals of withdrawal. |
