ok. i've listened to this song over twenty times and i think i've come up with a meaning. to me, i think its about a girl, who's just an average typical girl, but she's scared to live and take chances in her life because of something unfortunate that happened in the past. and this guy is fond of her. he's taken away every time he sees her. but he also is scared to let lose and live life. he also worries a lot. and just wants to escape reality. the line "Dear pacific day, won’t you take me away?" means he just wants someone to show him how to live. to show him to let go and not worry too much. to just leave it all behind. and he thinks the girl can help her and he can help the girl. he likes her and thinks that even though she's a great and wonderful girl, she should let lose more and take more chances. and he thinks he should do the same. basically just to live life to the fullest. he wants her to let go of everything she's scared of because he has. he wants her to take a chance on him. he's saying that if they get together, they'll brighten up each other lives. i guess the first time they tried to come out of their shells together. it didn't work out that well. "The silver sound is all around and the colors fall like snow. The feeling of letting go, I guess we’ll never know." i think in this song "color" represents, living life, or the spark. so i guess they felt like the spark wasn't there. and they're about to give up on letting go. they think it's too hard and they can't do it. but i guess he's more optimistic than her and he's like don't worry about it, we can try again. he's determined and feels like they can be together. that they can brighten each other lives. "Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains. And I’ll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins." the rainbow, is like the colors. he feels he can put the happiness and drive back in her life that she once had. they also wasted all that time apart and now they can be together. hence the line "Cuz your heart has a lack of color and we should’ve known. That we’d grow up sooner or later cuz we wasted all our free time alone" i guess she becomes nervous and he tells her to let go of those nerves and be happy. somewhere deep inside her, that happiness is hidden. she just has to believe its there and reveal it. "Somewhere there is a happy affair, a ghost of a good mood." then i guess she ends up showing that side of her. and they end up together and happy. they both loosened up and are starting to take chances. yeah thats what i think. i don't know if thats right. but considering no one else has come up with anything, i'm proud. haha. wow that took awhile to analyze. but all in all, its such a cute and great song. =) |

| i think this song is about anyone who has done numerous unforgivable things. and they go back to the person they've hurt asking for forgiveness. but how can you ask for forgiveness when what you've done is so bad and you're constantly doing it? it sounds like the person constantly lied and they want redemption using stupid excuses and once again, lies. | |

this song is sooo sweet... and its my current life story... to me, the song is kinda like unrequited love. a girl had everything that would make anyone happy, yet she didn't have the guy she loved so she wasn't completely satisfied. hence the first verse... the guy she's in love with no why he doesn't love her back although he wants too. when you fall in love and you look in someone's eyes, you see fireworks and a deep passion which makes you think theyre THE ONE. you also see everything special about them when you look into their eyes. however, when he looks into the girl's eyes, all he sees is just the plain blue sky and nothing special. like the line "Because when I look in her eyes, I just see the sky." he wants to find that special girl. he tells the one who loves him, you could love me, but if i tell you i love you i'd be lying to you. he doesn't can't believe anyone would love him and he think he's out of his mind. he just wants to fine that special one. "Throwing a line out to sea. To see if I can catch a dream." i really truly love this song. its so sad yet it sounds its sweet... definitely a different panic from 3 years ago. they've really grown. |

| i also agree with yoga1978. he's saying that he still truly loves the girl but he wants desperately to move on with his life and be happy. he figures if he says it enough, he can be free from her. i feel the same way... you know? you're still in love with that one person who broke your heart? i tell myself every single time i think about him or see him, "i will move on. i will move on. there are better people." after awhile, you start to believe it... slowly but surely, my feelings for him will completely be gone... i really hope so... so i can very much so relate to this song. it has a very very beautiful meaning. | |

This is song is like my life story... I mean to me, its about a relationship that was once the most important thing ever in these two people's lives. However, after awhile, they start to drift apart and one them moves on. The other person still cares and loves their partner but since they love him or her so much, they want them to be happy even if that means not being together. They've drifted so much that the only thing they say to each other is how they look that day... |

i love this song to me it means you should always take risk in life you should take all opportunities given to you but if you start to change and you dont' know who you are anymore, you should consider what you've done because it doesn't really mean anything anymore if you change along the way. |
