it has been written during the cold war, so the interpretation is not so difficult. it is a anti- militarist song. in fact, it talks of a general system (dont' believe the State or the Church), or, in the second verse it refers at 'a swear on a flag', meaning to me a anti-nationalist feeling. the prayer is not a anti religious term, to me. it may be to say that uman's mind is so crazy and the war so close, so we can't do nothing else that pray. Maybe the person who sing is someone died. (but why can you hear me running?) |

i think it's a beautiful song, too. the best text of roxette at all. i think it referred to a woman who cannot live her life, maybe for fear to love or to be happy and lose it. note the ripetition of the two strings (one leads to your heart , other leads to your soul). very beautyful words... life sometimes is bad, but we have to seek for the sun in our soul |
