Tina Dico – Warm Sand Lyrics 13 years ago
It seems to me more like a child looking back with blame at their mother. 'I pulled at your dress but you took no notice' seems very much in that vein. I don't know much about Tina. Maybe it's autobiographical, maybe just a story of childhood abandonment. That's how it reads to me. Now she's grown up and 'ffree'.

Sandy Denny – The Pond and The Stream Lyrics 18 years ago
From the Fotheringay album. This has always been my favourite Denny song. I like the sentiment, she sings beautifully and the guitar work is excellent. My grown-up daugther is on the way to 'being free'. I envy her that.

Joni Mitchell – Down To You Lyrics 18 years ago
Actually, I don't think this was on 'For the Roses'. I have it on 'Court and Spark'. I didn't originally like this song, but it's grown on me and is now one of my favourites. I lke the whole thing - the introspection on life and relationships - the melody and tone, and the 'orchestral' interlude in the middle. Top marks, Joni.
