| Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I could only relate to this song right before I went to rehab, no matter what kind of drugs you do I don't think it matters the feelings are all the same Waters said he didn't take a lot of drugs I don't know about gilmore, he is less fascinating, but they could have been lying. Either way I don't really care, whoever wrote this had to be seriously fucked up. It is amazing though, the whole alienation and emptiness, especially having once been happy when you were young, but looking back and not having any inspiration or belief in anything greater than yourself. In my opinion depression and psychological issues can make you just as numb as being high, but they go hand in hand, so whatever. It's a great song about looking for oblivion. However, it is a myth. Drugs do quit working eventually and then your fucked. Just thought all of you drugees might wanna know..... hahaha |

to me this song is about a painful obsession you cant get over and you go over it again and again in your head, you deny it, pretend as if you have let go of it, but you cant let it go despite the insanity and pain it is causing you and then you obsess again |

Anyone can relate to this song... it is about being infatuated by someone therefore you observe them and see them, flaws and assets, obviously they have issues, but in the end they don't see you the same way at all, and it very painful and the question is do you really know them? |

| Green Day – Whatsername Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Its about being obsessed with the idea of someone, but then you can't let them go, years later, when you know that it's really dumb to still have feelings for this person that turned out to not give a shit about you. You try as hard as you can to let them go, but every once in a while they pop back up in your head and you feel just as obsessed. I think it's bullshit that he doesn't remember her name, drugs make you forget a lot, but not someone you were obsessed with | |
| Switchfoot – Sooner Or Later (soren's Song) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
to those who asked what is the meaning behind "sooner or later you'll find out there's a hole in the wall and sooner or later you'll find out that you dreamed to be that small" to me it comes from the metaphor from Pink Floyd's "the wall", when you are afraid of letting anyone get to know who you really are so you push everyone away. Unfortunately when ever I do this I feel completely lonely and alienated. The Wall idolizes this fucked up dilemma, however this song is more about trying to recover from the loneliness and isolation. The wall feels hopeless, but if you are in recovery from something you may realize there is an option to let other people into your life - hence realizing theres a hole in the wall. It takes courage and humility to break through that hole, hence "sooner or later you'll find out that you dreamed to be that small" The whole song is about changing yourself to become a better person, from empty to whole. Of course there is the spiritual part "God I believe, please help me believe" where you can't just do this without a higher power because as a human you are flawed, but the song is asking for God's help, because with out it I find I don't give a shit about anything in life and remain miserable. By the way, Christians aren't the only people who believe in God. |

| Radiohead – Where I End and You Begin. (The Sky Is Falling In.) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
to me this song is about loneliness - "There's a gap in between there's a gap where we meet where i end and you begin" It could stem from a guy/girl relationship, but it is also runs deeper to feeling alienated from the rest of the world. The part - "i am up in the clouds i am up in the clouds and i can't and i can't come down i can watch and can't take part" I think is about some type of mental issue - depression, psychiatric drugs, drug addiction, PTSD, something where you can't connect with other people, however the emptiness of the whole thing is "eating you alive," "There will be no more lies," refers to the narrator, who obviously doesn't know who the hell they are or how to have a connection with anyone thats real, unconnected from themselves by their own denial and lies, and somehow they think that they can fix everything by getting closer to this person/spirit and telling the truth -I'm guessing it didn't work out cuz Radiohead generates off of infinite despair, fantasy, and self-pity, (its wonderful to indulge in) |

this is my first time reading the lyrics instead of listening i thought it went like did you go back did you go back when did you go back some things will never be the same which leads to my personal opinion of what the songs about there is a part of you that is still a kid, the genuine part of you, and then all of the psychological bullshit happens and you lose track of yourself-hence theres a little child running around this house, he will never leave and when you try to go back to the way things once were its impossible also adding in what the lyrics really are how do you know if you really are a bad person, or a person who does bad things, should you hate yourself? life will never be the same, so you go on but that part of you never will go away, coloring your view of everything around you forever |
