This song, is most definitely about a girl named Jeanette(Chase's best friend). Saying, he's not leaving and that no matter what happens he will be there to catch her when she's falling. He'll be the person that she can rely on, the one person she can truly trust. "Dear friend, I know sometimes that I have let you down, Just know I'll always be around and working on it." He's saying that he's let her down in the past, and he's not promising he wont do it again. However, he will always be working on it, for her. "And even when life seems the hardest and nothing feels okay, I'll be right beside you on that day." When things get bad, really really bad. He'll be there, even on her worst day. "This is not a full discussion" To me sounds definitely like "This is not up for discussion" But that's just what I'm getting. Best part in the song if I'm right about that lyric. Basically saying I'm done talking to you, your not going to try to use me anymore. "She says, "I want you to know, before you let me go It's your fault I'm demoralized." And I won't let what she says go to my head No, not again" To me is her blaming the narrator for causing all of this and basically leaving her guilt-free, however the guy isn't going to let her get to him again and he's finally moving on from letting her use him. "You've already done the damage You are a thing of the past" This to me is one of the strongest moments in the song, He's basically letting in be known that she isn't going to do this again and what's done is done, he's finished with her. |

Lyrics are a bit off, But I don't want to take the time to correct them. To me this song is about a man and women that once had a perfect relationship but everything went downhill once she met someone new. The man in this is begging for her to come back into his life and love him and not the new guy. The new guy apparently made her fall in love all over again and made her love for the singer fade. She's also afraid of this whole situation she's afraid of what's next in this seemingly perfect relationship. So she tries to find a way out and succeeds. |
