Andrew Bird – A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the asking of the panel is us as a people wanting to know the meaning of life. But the only answer they give is that you were conceived. Then he goes into a story where it's a one in a million shot that the guy ever had kids. Hazmat would cause sterility in anyone exposed. Though I agree with the drug aspect too. The nervous tic sounds like a drug twitch. Mayhap the trucker was hopped up on caffiene pills? I really love it when he sings "He just wants his life back" It sounds so haunting. |

It's about the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 obviously. |
Muse – Sing for Absolution Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Everyone here has it wrong! It's about sleeping beauty. But he's not prince charming so she ain't a waking up. haha I love this song. I'd say it was one of my favorites, except that with Muse, whatever song I'm listening to at the moment is my favorite. None of the suggestions have been completely satisfactory for me. But I think that has more to do with some of the lines seeming to contradict others. Oh and Ninja Kitty is right about the lyrics being wrong. |
The Strokes – Heart In A Cage Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ok, this might sound a little funny considering that the Strokes are in no way Goth. (neither am I BTW) But if you put this song into the context of being about a vampire, than a lot of the lines come into focus. I don't feel better when I'm fucking around And I don't write better when I'm stuck in the ground So don't teach me a lesson 'cause I've already learned Yeah, the sun will be shining And my children will burn "Stuck in the ground" Like he's been burried "Yeah, the sun will be shining And my children will burn" Vampires when they come into contact with the sun burn until ash. I don't want what you want I don't feel what you feel See, I'm stuck in a city But I belong in a field "I don't want what you want I don't feel what you feel" He's no longer human. His desires have changed "See, I'm stuck in a city But I belong in a field" He should be dead and burried out in some country cemetary. "now it's three in the morning and you're eating alone" Feasting in the middle of the night And of course the whole theme, The heart beats in it's cage. Sounds like he's remoursful to still be alive, when he's no longer human. And from the sound of it, still pining away for some girl that's still alive. "And I'm sorry you were thinking I would steal your fire" She sees him as a monster, though he would never hurt her. Anyways, I know it's an odd thought, but I had to share it |
