i do wonder whether it's based on reality.
it's always completely confused me that this man is married to his high school sweetheart, considering the songs he comes up with!! it's strange. none of my business, but interesting nonetheless. |

i think it's a really sad song. you can hear the twist in his voice at the end. (actually i bought this cd when i was in japan... it may be different, as someone above said). the "keeps me alive" at the end seems to imply he doesn't have much else keeping him alive but memories of his youth, and young romance... it's sad, beautiful. |

funny... this song makes sense to me. maybe it's the experimenting with acid and whatnot. it seems to be about a psychotic woman... "fighting in the war", fighting all the imaginary things psychotic people fight, apparitions, voices, people setting out to hurt her -- the empty world, because it's not real.
i think you just have to feel your way around it. it's genius. |

yeah, what king of some island said. some of the newer stuff like this is so epic in its own right for capturing the "jaded dying musician slipping from his pedestal" feeling... but which anyone can relate to as well, time running out, passion gone. |

| The Cure – Never Enough Lyrics

i think it's self explanatory. andi dont think its just about sex as some people have suggested... just simply never enough of everything (even pain -- "however much i'm falling down it's never enough")
"want" is kind of the same
a lot of vague allusions to never feeling content, never having enough excitement and pleasure and drama going on. |
