| Manchester Orchestra – Girl With Broken Wings Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"Well it's sad, but it's true She is ending But for now, she will pray for some wings On a black Cadillac she is landing hard Yet her parents' biggest worry is the car" She literally does not have a single person that she feels she can turn to and feels that the only way out is through suicide, yet her primary concern is going to Heaven. Heart-breaking :/ |

I think schill2002 is right. I see what you're saying, pankun, but it still makes sense, even if it is he who has the "lazy eye" because he then says "vexed" to rest on her, meaning that she obviously has imperfections, too. |

What the hell is this? Am I the only one who thinks this song is crap? Everything else that I've heard from Daisy so far has been decent, but this? What. The. Hell. |

This song is so incredible. I don't want to be wrong and sound like a complete idiot, but I personally think it's about smoking and all the people that die from it. "Now each day I sink a bit faster into my father's fate Four packs a day Four decades straight Right to an unmarked grave" -I think that his father may have died of smoking maybe. Or maybe he means God as his Father. Or maybe it's both. But he says "Four packs a day, four decades straight," and I think that he's saying his father smoked four packs a day for 40 years, and he's afraid that he's going to end up doing that too. And it will lead him to death. And he continues to talk about smoking and its affetcs and everything. "The face of a saint The voice of a symphony She says 'The future will be devoid of weaknesses' Free cigarettes For all the kids To make small skeletons" -More and more kids are beginning to smoke, and it's going to kill a large portion of them. "I used to think As I aged with time That it would shut it's eyes And just let me be Then I'd seen it's designs To kill and hide Deceitfully inside my skin I've been hunting it ever since." He used to think that it would be so easy to quit, but now he realizes how difficult it is to kick a nicotine addiction. Now he sees what it is doing to his body, and he can't stop smoking. "I used to think it would sleep!" -Maybe he already has some smoking-induced sickness and he thought he would be able to heal, but he's finally realizing he can't? Or maybe he's once again saying that he thought the nicotine addiction would sleep, but it won't and he just can't quit. I don't know. Like I said, I could be so far off with this, but it makes sense to me. For now, anyway. I will probably walk away, listen to it again, and realize that what I've said makes no sense at all. Haha. Let me know what you think. |

definately about censorship. in the video, when it says "shut me up," it puts black bars across the guy's mouth. |
