I think it's a romanticized version of events. Pete was definitely bitter about being 'kicked out' of his band, but I think this song was written more for the public; as is apparent, the fans feel they have the right to know what is going on in Pete and Carl's lives, and I think that Pete was trying to win over the fans by giving them what they want to hear. A load of codswallop (with just a hint of truth), if you ask me. |
